How CouchFix Tech collects, uses, and protects the information you share when you book a repair, buy or sell a device, or sign in. Written in plain language — no fine print games.

CouchFix Tech ("CouchFix", "we", "us") runs a doorstep service for phone repair, purchase, and exchange. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you use our website and services, and the choices you have. By using CouchFix you agree to the practices described here.

1 Information we collect

We only collect what we need to deliver a service you asked for:

  • Your mobile number — used to sign you in by one-time password (OTP) and to call you about a booking.
  • Your name — once you add it to your profile, so our technician knows who they're meeting.
  • Service addresses — the flat, locality, city, and pincode where you want a technician to visit, including any addresses you save for reuse.
  • Booking details — the device, issue, or order you create: repair bookings, device purchases, and sell requests, along with their status and any quote.
  • Reviews you submit — your rating, tags, and any comment about a completed visit.

We do not collect payment card details on this website — payments are settled as cash or UPI on-site at the time of service.

2 How we use it

  • To verify your identity at login and keep you signed in.
  • To schedule, assign, and complete your repair, purchase, or sell request.
  • To contact you about a booking — confirmation, rescheduling, or a technician on the way.
  • To improve our service using the feedback you leave in a Review.

We never sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

3 Phone numbers & OTP

We sign you in with a one-time password sent to your mobile number rather than asking you to remember a password. The code is short-lived and is only used to confirm the number belongs to you. Standard carrier message rates may apply to any SMS you receive.

4 Sharing & disclosure

We share your information only where it's needed to provide the service:

  • With our technicians — the assigned technician sees the name, contact number, and address for the visit they're carrying out.
  • With service providers — trusted vendors that host our systems or deliver SMS on our behalf, bound to handle data only for us.
  • When required by law — if we must comply with a legal obligation or protect our rights and users.

5 Storage on your device

To keep you signed in, we store a session token in your browser's local storage after you verify your OTP. It stays on your device until it expires or you sign out, and it isn't shared with any third party. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

6 Retention

We keep your account and booking records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support warranty, follow-up service, and our own legal and accounting needs. When information is no longer needed, we remove or anonymise it.

7 Your choices

  • Access & update — view and edit your name and saved addresses from your profile at any time.
  • Sign out — clearing the session removes the token from your device.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated data, subject to records we're required to keep.
